Enter your big or little sweetie in the Press-Dispatch Pet Contest and your snookums could be on the front of the 2009 Newspapers In Education (NIE) Pet Calendar.

Take a clear sharp photo of your pet (No polaroids, professional photos, or camera phone pictures, please. High resolution is needed for calendar).

Entries will be accepted until July 4th. If you don't wish to donate to NIE please contact Johna Freeman at 760-951-6267 or email jfreeman@vvdailypress.com.

VOTE

The first round of voting will be from July 13th to July 31st. The second round of voting will be August 3rd through August 22nd. The winner will be announced on August 31st.

Vote as many times as you like, votes are only $.50 this year. Don’t forget to tell your family and friends to vote. Submit votes by mail, online at highdesertcontest.com, in person at the circulation building of the Daily Press, or at the Desert Dispatch office.

WIN

The pet photo with the most votes at 5pm on August 22nd will be declared the winner and will be featured on the front of the 2009 NIE Pet Calendar. The 12 pets with the most votes will have their own page in the 2009 NIE Pet Calendar, the winner gets a page too.

All proceeds benefit Newspapers IN Education, part of a nationwide literacy program which provides newspapers and teaching materials to local school free of charge.
